Junkies, Justice Hold Sway At The 2007 MTV EMAs

Last night our European brethren were subjected to the shitshow that is an MTV Awards telecast. The taping was in Munich, Germany and featured Justin Timberlake being shut out (despite walking in with the most noms), Nelly Furtado winning album of the year, Linkin Park being named band of the year, and 30 Seconds To Mars taking the Rock Out category (presumably the Doucheband Of The Year award). The parade of poor taste took a momentary breather when Justice won the Video Star award (second year straight) and picked right back up with this terrible performance of "Back To Black" by Amy Winehouse. Why do they even let her perform anymore?

This comes on the heels of a report that Amy's dropped out of next week's mtvU Woodie Awards due to visa issues related to a past drug charge. Probably for the best, for everybody. Speaking of drug charges (terrible segue alert), Pete Doherty brought Babyshambles to Munich to perform "Deilvery" from the recently released Shotter's Nation. Went a helluva lot better than Wino's turn.

Kinks-y. The Woodies taping is next Thursday. We'll go and letcha know what you didn't miss.

that was out of control bad. Makes britney's VMA performance seem SO much better. you can't even hear a word she's singing, and she's so out of tune and then picks her nose!!!!

I think Winehouse is singing something about Kaeopectate at the begining there.

Oh and "BABYSHAMBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULES!!!!!!"

Priceless.

I don't know what to think about this...

The death pool at my office hasn't had a single person croak yet and this year's cutoff date is December something...

I pegged Doherty, someone else pegged Winehouse.

Maybe this is the short resurgance to sanity for Dohery before the complete breakdown and eventual death by heroin and crisps. The question is whether Winehouse will get there first.

ohmyGod, brit should've thank her for this utter crap performance. i do feel really bad for her backup singers and musicians. just throw tomatoes at her already! LOTS OF THEM....!!! wonder which 'planet' she went during that performance? she should have sung 'i love blake' all the way throughout the performance and the audience wouldn't have noticed. oh, i REALLY pity her backup singers....and what's with the cheery clappings from the audience? she deserved a total silence.

p/s: sorry 4 being overly emotional.hehehe.....

She's starting to sing, like my dad talks. Maybe she'll get a (sur)reality show now too.

Seriously Amy get your fucking shit together.

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...
