Kanye West And Peter Bjorn & John @ Way Out West Festival: It Happened

It all started innocently enough, Kanye lifting "Young Folks" for his mixtape and plastering a bunch of "uh uh" and "uh-uh-uhhh"s overtop the tune's ubiquitous whistle. Then Kanye broke the fourth wall and invited PB&J to perform the tune with him live at Gothenburg, Sweden's Way Out West Festival, which netted the YouTube you'll see below. Definitely no whistling track, definitely live bongos, definitely a bit of a mindfuck: PBJ&Ye...

More footage here and here. Kanye's getting good at this hype-man-for-guitar-bands thing! Jeah-jeah-jeah-jeah.

misconception/improper use of "breaking the fourth wall," (not to mention unnecessary).

Kanye did some amazing production on Common's latest album. All his beats are creative and fun! If you watch his videos http://www.imf.com/videos/?op=artist_videos&artist=Kanye%20West# on IMF, you'll see what I am saying. I don't mean to pump up Kanye, but he is the best out now, with Primo. He sounds like no one else and is consistent.

"breaking the fourth wall" is the "rosa parks" of misused metaphors.

kanye is awful. I don't understand why anyone thinks he's a good rapper.

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Horse Feathers - "Father"

Portland songwriter Justin Ringle's evocative vocal twang and sharp lyricism are at the center of Horse Feathers' bedroom Americana. The band's second album House With No Home, which follows 2006's Words Are Dead, finds Ringle's vision fleshed out by multi-instrumentalist/composer...
