Kanye's 808s Album Cover, And A Snippet Of "Anyway"

thubmnail icon: Kanye's 808s Album Cover, And A Snippet Of "Anyway"

Kanye West is nothing if not artsy. As rumored in various sneaker and furniture forums, and now confirmed by Amazon (Amazon doesn't lie), LP4's artwork features the deflated, heart-shaped red balloon seen on "Love Lockdown"'s cover. On the left border there's a color bar similar to what you'd see on a Peter Gabriel album. So now you have a .jpg for your four 808s ID3 tags -- "Robocop," "Coldest Winter," "Heartless," and the aforementioned first single "Love Lockdown." Ready for leak #5?

In Disc Changer Diaries, LowKey lets us into his car to listen to snippets of the future hip-hop hits stored on his Zune. In this "season two" video posted yesterday, we get a bit of Kanye's "Anyway." (Skip ahead to 1:35 or risk hearing a Busta/Pussycat Doll duet.) LowKey won't stop yammering over it, but you can make out lines like "You worry about the wrong things" given the Auto-Tune treatment. Also, it sorta sounds like Phoenix.

Looking forward to hearing that one proper. 808s & Heartbreak is out 11/25 on Roc-A-Fella/Island Def Jam.

This one sounds dope. I was worried at the start but it picks up nicely.

Its official--I couldn't care less about Kanye's new album. Of the 5 new tracks I've heard, I don't care for any of them. Bummer.

It's official, Kanye is the new Seal. This new stuff is dissapointing to say the least. He has stated that this is a pop record, and that 'Michael Jackson made pop and he was KING!' or something like that. What Kanye fails to realise is that Michael made good pop music, not this 'my voice has filtered through 1000 machines' rubbish he's serving up. You have always been pop Kanye, just not this sort of pop. Get the autotune out of your system and go make another classic rap album that a white boy like me can listen too. Cheers. I'll toast to that ya'll.

The full version leaked. Hit up my site if you wanna check it out. Pigeonsandplanes.com.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I think his album sounds awesome. It's so different than what's being done, but still immediately appealing to a lot of people who are already fans. And we haven't even heard the track with Wayne on it. I guess you guys probably don't like Weezy either huh?

Wrong--there is nothing unique and different autotune. Autotune by definition is homogenous.

And yes--"Weezy" blows too. Maybe he will fake play guitar on that track as well.

New Order's Blue Monday/Power, Corruption & Lies/Confusion colour bars.

Yes Vinnie, it's a total New Order/Peter Saville "homage". This man is only capable of "homage". (Sarcasm intended).

I completely agree with Vinnie about the New Order connection. That said, I really like it. Kanye certainly does his own thing with the color bars on the inner sleeve.
