Kanye's Glow In The Dark Tour Won't Allow Cameras, Will Allow Geography Snafus

thumbnail icon: Kanye's Glow In The Dark Tour Won't Allow Cameras, Will Allow Geography Snafus

Last week we were alerted to the fact that Kanye isn't allowing cameras into the room for his Glow In The Dark tour. Via Animal New York:

The rapper just kicked off his multi-city Glow In the Dark tour and Def Jam Universal has already alerted the YouTube police to start pulling down any snippets eager fans post, like this one we uploaded yesterday. Additionally, Kanye does not want the media taking his flick according to this email signature from Def Jam's Gabriel Tesoriero, Vice President for Media & Artist Relations:

"If this email is regarding Kanye West's Glow In The Dark Tour, please be advised that Kanye is not allowing photography of any kind during his performance on this tour, and be prepared to adjust your coverage accordingly. We will be contacting you regarding ticket requests a few days prior to the show in your market"

As we suspected at the time, that won't stop people.

"Flashing Lights," ironically. Maybe instead of worrying about cameras he should study a map. Looks like he called Sacramento "Seattle" during a set, and how he's apologizing, on his blog:

I can't believe I bust a spinal tap! It's no excuse for this I wish I could sink in a black whole. When I said Seattle and there was no crowd response I was up on my spaceship platform thinking damn... I think I just said the wrong city!!!!! I kind of muffled the words so I was praying nobody really caught it. I guess all those hours that me and Phill spent making my mic clear as possible back fired on me! We had alot of problems with the video servers on the first 3 songs and that completely threw me off! Hey, I'm not perfect. Hope everybody had a good time. I'm a man, I can say it... I'm sorry.

Ah, no worries, we've all found ourselves on our spaceship platform busting a Spinal Tap, Kanye. It's all good. Now to see if we can sneak photos during Bonnarapalooza.

At least he didn't call Seattle "Sacramento" - those poor Sonics fans have suffered enough.

k

I say.. who is this young, taught-faced brown-skin'd boy - what is he doing alone in his black-lit room - and where is his talent?

I was at the Sactown show.

Was great, tho incredibly pompous and VERY Spinal Tap at points, but hey thats Kanye.

Stereogum, we need a thread on the leaked MMJ record (which is awesome)

Then End.

I doubt the Bonnaroo show is late night. Doesn't appear to be any time slot that fits for him.

I can criticize his typing because I've never made a typo in all my years on the internot.

No cameras? Really? Dude, everything has a camera in it these days. Are they going confiscate 20,000 cell phones before each show? That sounds like a logistical nightmare created to satisfy a paranoid, over-inflated ego.
Maybe he's just really worried about a wardrobe malfunction making its way onto YouTube or something, but it kind of seems like he's on the verge of turning into Howard Hughes...

This is why I don't like Kanye West. Dude has an ego the size of Alaska and isn't as talented as he thinks he is.

well he is definitely talented because im pretty sure he is make millions more then you do. so get over it, and so what he made a mistake hes been on tour for months now you try living in a bus for days, he is probably tired as hell, and they probably just dont want cameras because they dont want it to get on the net and ruin it for others or maybe they have other reasons. and so what if he made a typo like some other kid said not everyone is perfect at least he can apologize for saying the wrong city. so why dont you people stop hatin and do something with your lives he looks to be a lot more successful then you maybe thats why your ahting

Went to GitDT a couple days ago and the security chick said that there would be scanners that you would have to put your purse through after the concert that would erase everything on your memory card...bullshit! they were just checking purses, thank god for bras, stuffed my camera in and got waved in. got pretty sweet vids and pics, everyone had cameras and they didn't really do anything.

kanye is the shit and the glow in the dark tour was amazing...to say that he is not talented is ridiculous and you only make yourself look dumb, you dont have to like him but just cuz you dont like him doesnt mean he is not talented
