Kría Brekkan Sings Along The Seine

La Blogothèque have a knack for featuring some of our favorite artists in their cinematic live performance videos. And also for setting their selected chanteuses along picturesque bodies of water. This clip stars Kría Brekkan (aka Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir), formerly of múm, who is preparing for the release of the reverse-playing Pullhair Rubeye, with husband Avey Tare (of Animal Collective). Here, a solo Kristín takes her accordion for a nighttime stroll along the Seine and sings the enchanting "Bee Lxaura," which actually has nothing to do with Pullhair Rubeye and is most definitely not in reverse. We think.

Pullhair Rubeye is out 4/24 on Paw Tracks.

I fucking love it.

But uh. I'm totally offset by Kría's looks. They do not match up with that voice at all. It is kind of eerie.

Gyda is probably the prettiest of the twins, imo. but i like Kristin Anna better, music-wise. I felt really sad when she finally announced her official departure from MUM late last year. And yeah, Avey's a very lucky guy indeed.

My heart was truly broken when I heard that Kristin Anna left múm. I had so looked forward to seeing them perform . I just saw múm in NYC on Nov 10, 2007 and had hoped that Kristin Anna might show up. Unfortunately she did not but I read at www.nyctaper.com that she did show up the night before. I guess I should just keep my eyes open for her in NYC. I too am jealous of Avey Tare. Best wishes to them both. You can download a set she performed in NYC here http://www.nyctaper.com/?p=53
