Liked Him Better When He Wasn't Famous

Earlier this month Mike Skinner tested MTV UK viewers' attention spans with a 20-minute clip intended to dethrone "Thriller" as the longest music video ever.

It's called "Deluded In My Mind" and you can finally watch it at the-streets.co.uk and clicking on the TV in "The Shed" area.

You won't make it through the whole thing.

Is the hook to this atrocity "I Was Made For Loving You" by Kiss? Good Lord, I hate The Streets

Also, just because it's 20 minutes long and has good makeup does not mean that "Thriller" is the greatest video ever made. Overrated, for sure.

i have enough trouble as it is understanding western hip hop slang... all this business about dodgers and scones really puts m'head for a through 'n' through, guvnuh. (kidding, but they do suck.)

This isn't a music video any more than wildlife documentaries are. A film and a song do not necessarily a music video make. I made it through the whole thing... but I feel that hollow sense that valuable minutes of my life have just been stolen, nay, violated.

In 2002, I thought Mike Skinner would rule the world by now.

The first Streets record and EP were great throughout. Then the second record was just good in spots. The third was pretty useless. This video is a little embarrassing.

Not the preferred career arc.

I'm sorry, but the dude was a sap before and is a sap now. "Dry your eyes, mate?" If you heard a country singer singing that garbage you'd excoriate him for the sappiness, but if it comes in a cute muddled British accent, why, it's genius! He's a one-note joke and deserves to have his own Don Johnson's Heartbeat. What a load of crap.

And, good God, did you see him on David Letterman? My wife turned to me and asked me "was that music?" to which I replied, "I'm not sure."
