Lil Wayne Makes Live "Rock" Debut On AT&T's Facebook Page

thumbnail icon: Lil Wayne Makes Live "Rock" Debut On AT&T's Facebook Page

This week has already brought us very special information: Weezy is going rock, and that his idea of "rock" is Linkin Park, and that it will sound like this. Even if you didn't before, now you know that. You can't un-know any of it. Welcome to the party. To continue adding to that wellspring of awesome, AT&T has a Facebook page and and wants you to be their friend, and are apparently all about streaming concerts, like the one at which Lil Wayne made the concert debut of his rocker "Prom Queen." As per his stop at SNL Wayne's rocking his stage prop guitar which he proceeds to tap like you've never seen.

Hear that noise, Marnie Stern? It's Weezy coming up behind you with a plate full of embarrassment. AT&T customers can get "Prom Queen": The Ringtone or "Prom Queen": The Full Track by texting "Wayne" to 7317, or by getting it online and then enjoy hours of people smacking your AT&T phone out of your hand because why would you do that to us.

As a big Weezy fan, I thought it was hilarious when he first started playing the guitar and immediately became the worst guitar player of all-time... but now? It's just sad. This song is sad- this whole side project of his is sad. You're already the best rapper in the world, Wayne. Stick with that.

Am I the only one who hopes this ruins him? Alright, I get it, people love Tha Carter III, but he probably won't be able to top that so he should just stop making music now. Forever. Especially what he considers "rock." It really is just sad.

This is music to my ears! And I'm talking about the backlash not the actual song, cause that sh-t sucks majorly. Wayne has been a horrible artist since '97, and somehow convinced the blogosphere that he was actually good last year. I'm glad you are realizing how moronic his music is.

Everyone is quick to hate on the best rapper alive. This isn't good but I'm sure some of the this album will be decent. All you indie fucks just hear the carter trilogy not dedication mixtapes or the drought/drought is over tapes, which are the best things to happen to hiphop in a minute. Stop that hatin' on a nigga, it is a weak emotion.

Actually, some "indie fucks" are from the NO area, and have been tired of Wayne's antics since he first popped up at age 16. Some "indie fucks" have even been following Cash Money's output since day 1 (and have the whole collection of Rap Snacks in their home). Don't be so quick to assume a group of predominantly white people don't know anything about Hip Hop. It makes you look a little racist.

Also I'd like to run a test: Who's the second-best rapper alive? I'd like to know what "great" rappers Wayne is supposedly better than according to his fans.

First off wayne has consistently changed his sound since entering the game, i.e. this rock album. Secondly how does race come into play at all. I'm just pointing out the fact that all these skinny jean wearing, converse sporting, Indie kids that only listen to radiohead are quick to judge a rapper that puts out something new every month. There isn't another rapper or artist that works as hard as he does. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, don't hate, appreciate.
from noahholla = "I'm just pointing out the fact that all these skinny jean wearing, converse sporting, Indie kids that only listen to radiohead are quick to judge a rapper that puts out something new every month."
While I have to admit that you're absolutely correct in certain ways, you're just digging the hole deeper and deeper.

Why do you assume everyone here is a "converse sporting" indie kid? I'll admit that a lot of people around here *may* wear Cons (although I don't, nor do my friends; it's not 1989 anymore after all).

Maybe a majority of kids just know Wayne's newest stuff and jumped on the bandwagon, but that doesn't mean you should paint everyone who's into "indie" music with the same brush. Some people just actually like the music, regardless of how street they are. Hell, I grew up just outside of New Orleans with Cash Money at every party I went to during and after high school, but I still think Animal Collective/FleetFoxes/FuckedUp are great bands.

It's just music. It's notes--vibrations in the air--it seems silly to draw ridiculous divisions that exclude people for being "johnny come latelies", meanwhile they still honestly love the music. Why hold that against someone?

But I take back the "a little racist" quote, I was just being over the top. Maybe I'm just angry because I had to put up with a 40+ year old woman complaining about the Hip Hop I was playing while DJ'ing last night.

::cheers:: Tip back a shot for Hip Hop fans everywhere.

i'm just trying to point out the fact that the majority of people on this site listen to mainly indie rock. All they've heard is the carter III, which was a disappointment. Being that this is all they've been introduced to, they need to dig a little deeper and here his better music before they say he sucks or he is a piece of shit.

I just can't understand, how his record company lets him put this out as a track in an actual album. not a b-side, not an ep, not a single, but an actual album. and as a single non the less.
I understand the concept of full creative control, but... well... yeah.
