Lily Allen Covers Blondie

In a bleak MySpace post, Lily said "It's the songs. I'm bored." We're not surprised. Tix are still on sale for her set as "the first artist to play the newly-christened Fillmore Irving Plaza"; maybe New Yorkers are burned out on the songs they've already seen a couple times now. Not that this stopped 'em from turning out for, say, Art Brut -- but Eddie Argos is his own animal.

So to spice up the set, Lily's been cramming more covers into her show. Let's Sexy Fighting was at Lily's gig in Portland Wednesday night, where she covered Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks, and Keane. Contemporary UK covers? Eh. But how about "Heart Of Glass"? You make the call.

This mus be a trend - Nelly Furtado covered the same song during her Vancouver set at GM place.

Each time there's an article about Lily alien it feels like reading Smash Hits. She's Avril Lavigne with a british accent and the cellulite of someone who grew up with too much Kidney pie, a pure product of modern british culture : empty and wide at the same time :)

i like both artists - fat or skinny - for different reasons. i enjoy them for distinctly different reasons.

sadly, a coke diet chased with alcohol doesn't give one carte blanche to make fun of someone else - especially on account of weight gain. i doubt a real female musician with equally soulful, doleful lyrics - pj harvey - would act like such a child.

here, in los angeles, a lot of people refuse rehab & lose a bunch of weight due to vice. big effin' deal. though miss "winehouse" talks about how "truly" british allen is, for christsake, could there be anything more stereotypically british than being a raving, asshole of a drunk? :cough: oasis - or a mess, pete doherty?

the feud is childish. make music for your audience. isn't that what it is about? i suppose you could live off of society blog compliments as long as you prefer. however i have never listened to a band because i read about them first on perezhilton.

I thought it was a perfect song to compliment her voice.
What does her weight have to do with anything? You bitches are mean!

"What does her weight have to do with anything?"
Well if she had a talent we could discuss about about it but all she has is cellulite so we talk about her weight problems.
If she happened to be a nice & decent person i would never make fun of her appearance but the fact is that she's a mean spoilt brat with an attitude whose got her contract through family connections.

when i saw her in los angeles a couple months ago, she did her keane and kooks covers, and also tossed in a lovely cover to the specials 'blank expression' - telling the audience how great they were and to all go out and buy all their albums.
