Metallica Loves Record Stores

Reporting from Rasputin in Mountain View, Laurence Scott lets us know Metallica still has "old-school analog values" and "being a hardcore fan never goes out of style." That's why they showed up to sign autographs and talk about the importance of record stores as social hubs during this past weekend's Record Store Day. Kirk's hair has seen better days, but dude still has a baby face and youthful exuberance. Same goes for James Hetfield, though it's his facial hair that's seen better days, etc. Lars? Lars doesn't get to talk on camera because he's the drummer. Not that that usually stops him.

See you guys at Bonnaroo.

Like Trent Reznor Metallica have lost that angry depressing fire that made their music good. But pre-Metallica (the black album) they were the bag of shit set to flame on your parents front porch.

To quote grandpa simpson: "I used to be with it, then they changed what it was. Now what it is is strange and scary to me."

I lol'd at how they're desperately trying to pioneer all this "Maaaan....this modern music scene is all wrooonng...whatever happened to hanging out at record stores and buying actual cds? Why are we all on the internet now, doooood?"

Maybe cause no one wants to get ripped off an extortionate amount of money for a shitty band like Metallica who spew out shitty albums like St Anger, when we can just download it at home, realise how bad it is, and delete it without ever funding their piss-poor efforts.
