MGMT Teach "Art Is Everywhere" On Yo Gabba Gabba!

thumbnail icon: MGMT Teach "Art Is Everywhere" On Yo Gabba Gabba!

Last year we told you MGMT were set to appear on season two of Nickelodeon's Yo Gabba Gabba! as space Vikings performing a song called "Art Is Everywhere." We weren't lying, but it took some time to track down the footage. Some would argue that MGMT basically always make children's music. Whatever your stance, they definitely look comfortable (and stoned?) piloting their avian longboat and making like Abstract Expressionists.

"Art Is Everywhere" doesn't appear on the the new Yo Gabba Gabba! Music Is Awesome! album:

01 "Yo Gabba Gabba! Theme"
02 "Party in My Tummy"
03 The Shins - "It's Okay, Try Again"
04 "I Like to Dance"
05 Money Mark - "Robo Dancing"
06 "Get The Sillies Out"
07 Biz Markie - "Biz's Beat of the Day #1"
08 Chromeo - "Nice 'N' Clean"
09 "Try It, You'll Like It"
10 The Roots - "Lovely, Love My Family"
11 "Don't Be Afraid"
12 I'm From Barcelona - "Just Because It's Different Doesn't Mean Scary"
13 "Bubbles"
14 of Montreal - "Brush Brush Brush"
15 "Nice & Easy"
16 The Little Ones - "Hey, Won't Somebody Come and Play"
17 Weird Science - "Go Crazy Remix"
18 Yo Dazzlers - "You Can't Always Get What You Want"
19 Mark Kozelek - "Bedtime Lullaby"
20 "Goodbye Song"
21 "Yo Gabba Gabba! Closing Theme"

Yo Gabba Gabba! Music Is Awesome! is out 10/20 via Filter. There'll also be a Deluxe Edition with bonus tracks, so perhaps MGMT will show up there.

Yeah, you could say they've been known to make music for THE YOUTH.

Where was this show when I was a kid? I wish I had grown up listening to stuff like the musical guests they get on yo gabba gabba. Instead, I had the backstreet boys and Hanson. yay.

This could easily be the video for their next single.

Nice intro from John Reis, too! (Swami, RFTC, The Night Marchers, et al)

that is a pretty fucking funny comment.

but... even if they are overrated, who cares?

btw, i heart mgmt. is this a song they just dashed off? it's great. i'm glad their label is forcing them to make half of their new album pop.

I just love how desperate nickolodeon is to apear cool that they would put on groups like mgmt, who have been so direct and honest about their drug use, on a television show for fucking four year olds. . . i dont know, to me that seems a bit irresponsible?? maybe wait till the kids are like 7 before you put on the next nickolodeon half hour special: Phish's Complete Guide to Picking a Bong. . .
are nicolodeon's producers that retarded, or do they not realize that kids can easily youtube one of these "magical" bands and see shit that maybe should wait until middle school??

I'm glad that someone has finally taken the initiative to teach our children correctly.

Also, never reply to some idiot with "1337" in their name. They are either trolling or the dumbest shit 13-year-olds ever.

Also, MGMT is my god.
