Michael Showalter Plugs The PLUGS From His Mixtape Store

It's sort of awesome how many excuses Showalter's been giving us to post up his wares this past year. Underneath all the muso satire and playlist deception, you know there's a just a guy who loves his music. (As in, loves his music.) Most recently seen stumping for Barack, Michael continues the indie rock approved activity by stumping for the PLUG Awards -- via this video, inviting a cam crew into his mixtape store. In his parents' basement.

As you saw at the outro there, the PLUGs are handed out 3/6 at Terminal 5 and hosted by Patton Oswalt (with music guests Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, St. Vincent, Dizzee Rascal, José González). Got a favorite band or blog? Vote here.

I saw him live a couple weeks ago. He was HILARIOUS. And he did play a lot of music. He's pretty damn awesome all around, I'd say.
