Morrissey Does "Something Is Squeezing My Skull" For Jimmy Kimmel

thumbnail icon: Morrissey Does "Something Is Squeezing My Skull" For Jimmy Kimmel

When Moz's highly repeatable Years Of Refusal dropped everybody was like "this is a rock record, listen to his band rocking!" And then some months later the "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" single was announced and everyone was like "this is a good single, look at his band naked!" Right not quite full monty, you'll see Moz at that link with a 7" on his Mr. Shankly, his playmates following (birthday) suit. His stop at Jimmy Kimmel last night featured neither "Paris" nor nudity, but "Something Is Squeezing My Skull" is part of the reason everybody freaked for the band's raw onslaught in the studio; they are fiery here, giving Morrissey a broad platform from which to wish we would just drop dead and remind that there is no hope in modern life. This charming man. Also to note, he ends his performance with a succinctly classy two-word obit: "Lux Interior."

Years Of Refusal is out 2/17 on Attack/Lost Highway.

i don't know if it's supposed to be irony or not (if it is, i missed it), but i can't believe that anyone still writes about morrissey using phrases and titles from his songs. it was never cool, and it still isn't 50 years after the first article like that came out.
