New Against Me! Video - "Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart"

thumbnail icon: New Against Me! Video - "Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart"

Last week Tegan Quin got wrapped up in telephone chords and heartbreak in the video for she and sister Sara's "Call If Off." Here, Quin joins Against Me! in the clip for New Wave power-ballad "Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart," she and frontman Tom Gabel crooning across a studio while the rest of the band plays on and grows out their beards. It's AM!'s second black and white clip in a row, but this one has a little more movement than the "Bastards Of Young" homage.

Cute couple. I'm happy for them. Keep Against Me! in mind this election season.

New Wave is out via Sire.

"Cute couple. I'm happy for them."

Actually, I think that both Tegan and Sara are lesbians.

Doesn't make the relationship theme any less sincere (love this song)...

it's a good song but only an okay video.

and you might want to take out the part about the "cute couple." you were probably just joking, but tegan's gay and if the rumour spreads you're going to have a bunch of girls posting frantically "What?? They're dating?? What??" Just saying. i don't think you want to be responsible for rumours and causing a riot of teenage girls, which will no doubt happen.

Yes, I was joking. Tegan is gay. Tom is not gay. She and Tom are not dating. (Note: Sara is also gay. She is also not dating Tom.)

A pretty good song on an otherwise awful album.

I used to be a huge fan of this band, but they've grown from groundbreaking anarchist folk/punk to run-of-the-mill pop. So dissapointing...

i think you got that backwards.. that's not a slag on teagan and sarah either, but this song is awful on an otherwise mediocre album from a great band.

If they duet at ACL and not Bonnaroo, I'll be irate. Bonnaroo has been the far superior music festival lately. Mostly, I'll be mad cause I can't actually make it to ACL this year.

if you guys cover against me! so much, how come i never hear anything about the gaslight anthem on this site? probably for the same reason we hear so much crap about lil wayne and kanye but not any other hip hop

that's a good question, actually. gaslight anthem is what against me! would have sounded like if they had remained good when they went commercial.

aw cmon, that doesn't sound like hipsternet indie cred! five years ago you know you were too busy pretending to like new order and/or in an uproar about belle and sebastian to have given two shits about against me

five years ago i didn't give a shit about either of those bands, but i worshipped against me!

i know i sound like one of those bitter when-dylan-went-electric people, but so be it. i loved the shit out of these guys, and now they suck. it just stings a little.

but i wish them all the best.

and i'll always have reinventing axl rose and as the eternal cowboy to spin when times get rough, so that's something.

am I the only one who thinks this band sounds like Manic Street Preachers? He sings just like James Dean Bradfield.

First time I ever heard this band and I love Tegan and Sara already from previous. I liked it and it was a good mix of them together. I will have to check out more of the band .... but I am interested so that is good.

I don't know what Tegan's fascination is with these stupid no-talent hacks, but I lose more and more respect for her every time she associates with them.

Tom Gabel is utter shit and should fly far away on his gigantic Dumbo ears.

totally agree. I don't mind Against Me! although they've gotten pretty shit, but AFI? and alkaline trio or whatever they're called. a bunch of talentless douches. oh well. I've always thought sara was a much better songwriter anyways.
