New Against Me! Video - "New Wave"

thumbnail icon: New Against Me! Video - "New Wave"

Instead of spilt wine, war metaphors, or election year encouragements, Against Me! make like "Bastards Of Young" in their b&w video for "New Wave." It's different than the label promo thing. Someone plops a copy of New Wave on the turntable, cues up track one, smokes a cigarette, sips from their umbrella cocktail, listens, and all the while makes sure to maintain proper product placement in the upper right hand corner. Don't get too cozy, though, there are a couple last-second surprises.

Must be a fan of the old stuff.

New Wave is out via Sire.

Kinda reminds me of this Replacements classic video for Bastards of Young. I have always dug this video, and was curious when it would be ripped off. All you young punks, go look it up, and downerload its.

We're on the same wavelength here. Re-read the post....think you missed it the first time.

I had a Replacements faze once upon a time.... for some perverse reason I quit on them before making my way to "Tim". Through the magic of i-pod impulse buying I bought it not too long ago. And it's my favorite. The perfect balance between Paul the romantic and Paul the guy who just came off of "Let It Be'. Ever since I-pods I make a playlist out of albums to keep it sweeter and more interesting, Like for "Tim" I included Beach Boys "Let Him Run Wild"(jim honeyman scotts beach boy fave),The Moves "California Man","Jennifer Eccles" by The Hollies,"Us" by Malkmus and "Shake Some Action" By the flamming groovies. It was fun for awhile....

I forgot two songs on from my magic "Tim" playlist. Lindsey B 's early version of the song that became "I know I'm not Wrong" from Tusk. (Dude kind of invented what we now call the animal collective genius approach.) So Bach and Animal Collective wrapped up in one... they didn't call Brian a genius for nothing...

you have to respect time frame in which bastards of the young came out. mtv were looking for michael jackson type videos.
