Part Back Street Boy facial hair, part boy-band neo-soul croon, but you just can't beat the holiday sentiment involved in SNL's Digital Short this weekend. (Though gift givers, if your "digital" is too short that box will never stay put!)
Watch the unedited version of the video here, and stick around for the "Homelessville" sketch, reprising his last visit's hilarious "Omletteville." Between those two and revisiting The Barry Gibb Talk Show with Fallon, it's the best Xmas performance Timberlake has given since that classic "Jingle Bell Rock" 15 years ago.

Pretty flagrantly a Mr. Show rip-off, from the hair to the clothes to the dance steps to the camera angles and so on. Yes, a different punch line, but ultimately a shot-for-shot remake. Not that I didn't laugh.

There was a completely different joke with Three Times One Minus One. It's like doing a sketch that takes place in an office and saying it's a ripoff of a Monty Python sketch that was about an office.

Really? A 'completely different joke'? Aren't both of the skits mocking the often crude sexuality of middle-of-the-road early-'90s R&B? Or was one of them a political allegory or something? No need to be precious about it - they're both funny. But to say that the SNL skit is 'completely different' than the Mr. Show skit is being willfully disingenuous.

The 3x1-1 skits were mocking R n' B and its inherent stupidity, with the non-lyrics ("Ew, Girl, Ew") and the completely unnecessary side man ("Damn").
Dick in the box was a joke about putting your dick in a box as a Christmas gift for your lady. Then they slapped on a Color Me Badd vibe to make it funnier.
I see the similarities, what with them both being bad R n' B duos, but I don't see rip off.
Was Lazy Sunday ripping off Jim Belushi's old white rapper character because they were both white and rapping?

I actually thought this was pretty lame - did people really think this was that funny? Felt like the digital shorts were repeating themselves -- early 90's music parody (like Lazy Sunday, that Tom Hanks Thing) combined with a crude nonsequiter joke (like the Tom Hanks testicles joke). No real point to it besides famous people dressed up funny and saying naughty words. Am i being too harsh?

The first handful of sketches on SNL last week were rather good. It's odd how well-suited Timberlake is to SNL's sensibilities and how good he is to warrant sketches with recurring characters of his own (two if i'm not mistaken).
And I always appreciate that Jimmy Fallon's utterly worthless until needed as Barry Gibb. Kind of karmic for how smug and hip he is.

I don't see the Mr. Show rip-off. They're both riffing on a particular style of music in different ways.
This was one of the funniest SNL sketches I've seen in a long long time. It is just so funny on so many different levels. The outfits, the dance moves, the facial hair, the hand gestures, Justin's vocal inflections, etc., etc. Definitely a true comedic gem.

For some odd reason I found the aired version funnier then the un-edited one, maybe cause I thought it was C@ck in a box (which sounds better to me) NBC has also asked YouTube to pull the censored version cause it violates copywrite law so if you recorded the episode watch out for Big Brother!
