New Be Your Own Pet Video - "Becky"

thumbnail icon: New Be Your Own Pet Video - "Becky"

As reported, Be Your Own Pet called it quits and are headed to the UK for their final tour. But don't worry -- they're like 10 years old, will have other bands someday even beyond their current side projects. Before the final burst of poppy punk and that last bow, the Tennessee quartet's also finished a Marvin Scott Jarrett-directed video for banned track "Becky." The plot: A night of muted revenge and murder at the movies, Jemina & Co. doing their thing on the screen and in the theater.

Remember, this is what "Becky" looked like live. Also, BYOP's Wikipedia entry is already written in the past tense, which means the upcoming shows technically don't exist.

i hated how they edited the swear words out of the song by kinda skipping the music. however the way the film runs out at the end of the video kinda symbolizes the end of the band. hopefully, we'll see much more of them (separately) in the future.

The chorus of this song is so unbelievably kick-ass but how could they have not known the verse melody is EXACTLY that song "Locomotion"? Anyway, fare thee well, kids.

I'm really glad this band is breaking up.
They are really good at what they do, but you can only keep with the same shtick for so long before you're Interpol.
