New Beach House Video - "You Came To Me"
The main thread running through our PE of Beach House's great, gazy second effort was to examine the band's marked growth, "You Came To Me" being particularly on point: "We don't think they could've written this song a year ago." We don't think they could've made this video a year ago, either. At least not on the budget and foresight tip. Compare: Beach House's "Master Of None" was a trippy Baltimore house party of slow motion and soft focus, and here Alex and Victoria trade up to higher definition slow fades and soft dissolves. Hands go walking, shadows cast long, the stage is set for two, with handfuls of stardust to blow. Say what you want, but you can't say they don't know who they are. Skizz Cyzyk directs.
Beach House is out 2/26 on Carpark.
