New Beck Video - "Gamma Ray Redux"

thumbnail icon: New Beck Video - "Gamma Ray Redux"

In July Beck put together a "Gamma Ray" video that resembled a surrealistic Gap advertisement. Then in early October one of our anonymous commenters noted:

This is not the actual video. Sorry to ruin things for you guys. The original stars Chloe Sevigny (Not yet released)

Anonymous commenters know their shit: Today Beck premieres the Jess Holzworth-directed "Gamma Ray Redux" video starring Ms. Sevigny. She plays a "post-apocalyptic go-go dancer set loose in a Dada-ist pastiche of psychedelic imagery and characters." Yes. Unfortunately it isn't a Hugo Ball-style Brown Bunny homage.

As you'll be told before they let you watch the video, keep your eyes out for the fan-made Beckumentary. The winner, Natasha, does the announcing.

More interesting than the walk Beck took for "Modern Guilt."

The Beckumentary debuts 11/18 on MySpace Music. Modern Guilt proper is out via XL/Interscope.

The video would be 100 times better if it didn't have that f*cking mime.
And yes Chloë Sevigny is super hot.

And here I was completely content with the other video. It was simple and downplayed, very subtle. Stylistically matched the visual elements of his current vibe and personally I thought that was pretty cool and really accessible. I mean, don't get me wrong, this is cool as well, but if I had to go play favorites...

Actually, if I had to play favorites, I'd just go back to the video for "Little One" and put a shiteatingrin on my face.

The anonymous poster from the previous video's link didn't post that until October 11th. All of the comments prior to his/her were from July. What does this mean, you ask? Is it some insider trying to hype the upcoming release? Is it someone with an awfully slow modem? I don't fucking know but this single has been dolled up in more ways than Jared Leto.

That was me who wrote that.
At the time that the actual video was being directed, someone had told me about an already existing video on the net. So I looked and found it posted here.
Just wanted to inform y'all that it wasn't the real video. Simple as that.

I liked the other video better. This video tries to hard to be cool only coming out like one of the reject videos by Of Montreal. The other video didn't even try to be cool and it looks cool.
