New Ben Folds Video - "Hiroshima"
We mentioned Way To Normal when talking about the songs Ben Folds premiered at Bonaroo and the further details he unveiled after unretiring "Bitches Ain't Shit." Now there's a stop-motion video for first single "Hiroshima." It includes sundry toys like a bespeckled Folds doll, a Dwarf puffing on a pipe, a bear and his ranger pal, and a lady who loves Ben (pictured to the right).
Originally slated for a 9/16 release, Way To Normal, the first since 2005's Songs For Silverman, is out 9/30 on Epic.

This is a monumentally horrible album. He's squandered all of his stock-piled Ben Folds Five love.
Let's get the reunion gears spinning for that show. That'd be something, huh?

You're heard the whole album?

Yeah, something like 9 songs have leaked. And I can confirm that they're horrible.
Score = 0
Perhaps you've listened to the fake leak? Apparently Folds recorded fake (and apparently shitty) versions of 9 songs and "leaked" them himself to foil real leakers and / or fuck with his fans
Score = 0
Folds would do something like that. He's not only one of the most inventive songwriters out there, but he LOVES to fuck with his own image and doesn't take anything seriously. That's a key to longevity. Also, he fucking rocks.
Score = 3
oh great. self-referential pop music.
ben folds is officially old now.
say hi to rivers for me

sucks that Hiroshima isn't a fake song, because it is terrible.
Score = -2
Hiroshima wasn't debuted at Bonaroo, he pulled it out on his college tour this winter, thought I'm not exactly sure when.
Score = 0
It's sad to see this. I mean, he had some decent songs on those EPs a while back, but he essentially said goodbye to writing good music when Robert Sledge and Darren Jessee left.
This is godawful.
Score = -1
Eh, I thought it was horrible at first, too...but it kind of grows on you after a while. Ben Folds is still pretty awesome. I mean...come on. Come on. Just...seriously, come on.

Hiroshima was played at Luther College in Iowa this year.

I've listened to the album several times, I find it it to be solid. Folds is one of the few musicians who can write clearly and keep me interested with just the lyrics, not to mention the new things he tries with his music.
