New Benoît Pioulard Video - "Idyll"

thumbnail icon: New Benoît Pioulard Video - "Idyll"

We last heard from young Thomas Meluch aka Benoît Pioulard back when he was making lovely work out of "Triggering Back." Since he's left his home in Michigan for a new life in Portland (he won't have a hard time finding people to hang out with) and is set to issue a follow-up to his Kranky debut Précis, titled Tempers. "Idyll" is the first video from the collection, showcasing a relatively upbeat Benoît jangling, showcasing his distinct baritone, and harmonizing with himself to footage found via archive.org of a "Dutch filmstrip about heat transfer printing." Don't know why it fits, but it does.

That comes via The Fader, who have a long interview with Thomas on things related to the video and otherwise. Try out the first single (via P4K):

Few mix pretty and dark quite so well. Temper is out 10/14 via Kranky. Hear another from the new record, "Loupe," at MySpace.
