New Björk Video - "Earth Intruders"

Björk handed the reins over to French director Michel Ocelot for the first official Volta vid, sorta like a mashup of the "Human Behaviour" forest during A Nightmare Before Christmas. Unlike Gondry's take, Ocelot keeps it linear, horizontal, two-dimensional ... but still hella trippy.

Remember to watch SNL this weekend to see Björk perform, with host Scarlett Johansson. Oh yeah, if you'll be pre-Coachellaing ... ScarJo's gonna sing backup for the Jesus And Mary Chain??

All this stuff about Bjork, and you haven't even mentioned the new Architecture in Helsinki song, which is..well.. way better than this crap.

Love the song, but the dancing silhouettes now share a permanent space in my brain alongside the dancing mortgage online ads.

It does look a lot like an Ipod advert welded to a scrolling computer game, doesn't it?.. The song is okay, though I'll be disappointed if it ends up being one of the highlights of the new album.

Dear Scarlett Johansson,

Don't. You're a worthless actress. This band is well beyond your realm of comprehension. Hopefully people will throw things in your general direction.

Dear Reid Brothers,

Why?

As for SNL, Bjork was great. Very interesting, the whole barefoot dancing thing with a chorus full of french horns. She's not one of my favorites, but she was very captivating and I think I'll look forward to the CD. As for Scarjo? Sucked. Big time. SNL had been doing fairly well lately, but the sketches in this one were seriously unfunny. Quado? Someone should be shot.
