New Black Lips Video - "Katrina"

Black Lips vid for "Katrina" features no vomiting, nudity, or errant Pottery. Instead, it's colored backrops, extreme mustache close-ups and extreme-ier capped-teeth shots. Lo-fi and loose, fitting the garage-y Atlanta punks' style. And umm ... is the drummer using fish sticks? (via GvsB)

Ben,

You should know that the we (and by that I mean the people who are black or did watch our city go under) don't find those types of comments to be humorous in the slightest! You just reinforced the fact that as soon as I saw the name of this song I was reminded of an event in which I lost my home, my history and everything I held dear.

So thank you for marginalizing and insulting a city that is still suffering nearly two years after the fact. You sir are a complete piece of shit, and you should feel like a horrible human being for even allowing your brain the idle time required to formulate jokes so utterly tactless and insulting!

Ben,

I just hope that for your sake you never have to experience what the people of the gulf coast have gone through. Because you sure as hell wouldn't be joking if it had happened to you.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping
