New Blind Melon Video - "Wishing Well"

thumbnail icon: New Blind Melon Video - "Wishing Well"

Blind Melon are still back. As we mentioned when we went behind-the-scenes for the reunited band's "Sometimes" and through the slightly less immediate "Wishing Well." Again, new vocalist Travis Warren is no Shannon Hoon, but he is Travis Warren. That said, we're used to our mentions of Blind Melon being met with disdainful boos, so please watch "Wishing Well" all the way through to the post-busking finale. Maybe then you'll get it.

See, he isn't in it for the money. It's...

This kind of stuff wouldn't upset me if these guys played a set before the trivia guy showed up at some discreet pizza/beer shack. But knowing that folks will pay more than $5 on this stuff.... and that they're not all drunk... God, it really makes me sad on a profound level -- the way Huckabee supporters made me feel not too long ago.

Boooo, hisssss

Jeez louise, I'm saying they're a shitty band. If you think I'm saying I'm better than people who like them, you're reading too much into it.

And please pardon my hyperbole. They don't ACTUALLY make me sad. I wish some of you internet folks could lighten up and not be so literal-minded. (There, you wouldn't be mistaken if you felt I was implying that I'm better than you.)

Jesus people, lighten up! Don't like it, don't buy it. I for one am glad that Blind Melon is back. Nobody can replace Shannon Hoon but Travis Warren gives it his all and it's worthy!

I love that the little old lady is flipping around Cat Steven's "Catch Bull At Four." I love that album. (Yes, I said album...)

How can a one-hit wonder have a "comeback" when the singer is dead? They must have forgotten to think that through. It doesn't work.

it will be interesting to see how blind melon is received by the latest generation of music fans who have been forcefed hip-hop bling by the music industry for most of their lives. hopefully they will have less to say than the smug thirty-somethings that have already chimed in on this site with nasty comments about the band. i suppose it would be hard for y'all to support any band that isn't from brooklyn or doesn't rack up tons of undeserving accolades for "indie" music that will be forgotten a year later.

oh, and by the way hipsters... its funny how all bands must be tagged "indie" to pass your initial litmus test for coolness. meanwhile the mainstream music industries props up the existence of the "indie" record labels through secret partnerships and distribution deals. friggin lemmings.

go blind melon.

Who gives a hoot about indie rock?
Personally, I don't know the first thing about Brooklyn aside from Animal Collective is maybe from there(?)

This Blind Melon stuff, though, is real shitty neo-hippie stuff. This coming from someone who likes hiking and the Dead.

Maybe it's better if you hear it in the quad whilst taking a drag from an organic cigarette. If I ever decide to hate myself, I'll give this song another shot.

studly, let me get this straight.. you like hiking AND the dead and could give a hoot about indie rock.. what a strange existence, boy. and what's with the "neo" hippie description? are you from greece?

Some of you people are just a-holes. Travis Warren is unbelievable. Blind Melon is awesome with him. Sure, he isn't Hoon; however, he isn't trying to be and that is clear. The guy can sing like a stud. If you don't like the fact that BM is back in the first place, man, you're just being close-minded. This band can still bring the thunder. Go see a show if you don't believe me. Don't shut yourself out until you've seen them live.

Wow...I stumbled upon this website...what a bunch a losers you guys are...first of all Blind Melon has continued to grow a fanbase without its singer in the past 12 years, how many of the gay bands you listen to can say that...they're also selling out shows everywhere...Shannon was a legend, Blind Melon has risen from the ashes and everybody was still waiting...who's waiting for any of you losers to arrive....my point exactly...swallow your suicide pill...you'll never amount to anything...Long Live the MElon....
