New Boards Of Canada Video - "Dayvan Cowboy"

As discussed here last week, BoC have filmed their first-ever music video ... and it includes surfers! Great song, and here's the much-anticipated clip in all its trippy glory.

In other Warp news, the label has signed Stereogum faves Grizzly Bear! Until we get our hands on Yellow House (slated for sometime this fall) here's a tune from the band's early demos collection Sorry For The Delay, available on limited edition vinyl on GB's upcoming tour.

good fit. let's be honest, BoC music is best suited to being background music for montages of cool visuals; not much more.

as a huge boc fan, it pains me to say that with the new album (and video), they've become the new moby. strapping dynamite to your ass may not be safe or comfortable, but it's way more fun than taking the bus.

give me a break. BOC is SO not the 'new Moby,' who was never very good and basically found some Alan Lomax samples that refueled his career. Sure, BOC's sound has changed and maybe some of the new tracks don't hit you as quickly as some earlier stuff, but there's just no way you can discount BOC's majestic sound.

Can we just talk about whether or not the arctic monkeys are going to add a second NYC show?

Boring.

Sorry, I know this sort of thing is "deeper" in proportion to how bland it is so I guess that makes me a knuckle-dragger but this shit is yawn-inducing. Plus its funny how the supposed music of the future is begginging to sound so incredibly dated.

this video is well-edited and suited for this song
it takes you away from life for a couple minutes
it's just what i needed today
cheers

"music of the future"

nobody says that unless they think the counting crows are where it's at right now.

if it's yawn inducing you're not fucking listening to it loud enough
when it's shaking your whole life with bass you'll know what matters

"nobody says that unless they think the counting crows are where it's at right now."

HA! What are you? Fucking six?
Yeah, it's easier for you to pretend that I MUST be into crap music, because it alleviates you from having to reflect on being easily amused. Nice try though.

"Oh whoa is me, why cant all music be the banal outmoded pop that andrew thinks Im into? After all he took all of 4 seconds to construct a lame strawman to attack in my honor."

Sweet. You were off on the age, though, I'm six and a HALF. Represent.

I liked your first response better where you didn't pretend to quote yourself.

BoC are incredible. Sure this album isn't as dark as geogaddi or playful as music...
But is complex, excellently produced and is a mile better than a lot of the tat out there. As a couple guys who defined a genre the boards keep it interesting without losing what made them so fresh.
The video could do with more of the freefall. anyone know where you can find the original?

Boards of Canada is supposed to both futuristic and dated, on purpose. It's a "dated vision of the future." That's kind of the charm...

Anyone notice this song sounds a lot like "Come And Play In The Milky Night" by Stereolab? I wonder if BoC got inspired by a little old-school stuff...
