New Calvin Harris Video - "Ready For The Weekend"

thumbnail icon: New Calvin Harris Video - "Ready For The Weekend"

The video for Calvin Harris's "I'm Not Alone" featured the Scottish electro singer-songwriter as a knife-wielding mad scientist surrounded by female dancers/test subjects (and, for some reason, a kid with his teddy bear). In "Ready For The Weekend," the title track from his forthcoming second album, the dancing girls don red leotards to match Harris' magic red mirror/portal, red shirt, red furniture, etc., until they change into blue and yellow zip-up bathing suits, expanding the palette and multiplying endlessly, just in time for the weekend.

The "Ready For The Weekend" single is out 8/10. The album of the same name is out 8/17 via Fly Eye/Columbia/Sony. (You already know this. It was advertised during the entire clip.)

I love Calvin but I'm really not digging this song or the video. The mirror/window thing is cool, but it kinda reminds me of a target commercial.

Jesus this song is AWFUL. Eye candy is OK in it, but seriously, this is steaming bad.

Ugh. This is a Michel Gondry rip off. The guy is a dork and the song is terrible. Go to youtube and rewatch the brilliant video for Let Forever Be to see this done properly.

I'm sorry but for as horrible as this song might be and as cliché as this video might be, I just can't resist watching it for one reason and one reason only...

GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS!

Yes.

Seems custom made for a Target advert. Looks like it has the same director too.

Catchy hook.

They don't have Target commercials in Great Britain, therefor Im sure he doesnt know about or care about any visual similarities.
