New Coldplay Video - "Life In Technicolor II"

thumbnail icon: New Coldplay Video - "Life In Technicolor II"

As previewed, Coldplay have made a video for "Life In Technicolor II" that takes place in an elementary school classroom and stars puppets where the Coldplay would be, and also where the hammer dulcimer and tabla playing intro musicians would be. Sadly no puppet Eno, but no matter; the real stars are the school kids reacting confused and passing around the crowd surfing Martin doll. Aww! Bona fide bulletproof, check your sniping at the door, kids are cute and super snark shields. Class dismissed.

That comes from the Prospekts March EP. Coldplay are performing at the Grammys on 2/8 out of L.A. Wonder what they'll wear just kidding.

The look on the kids' faces is priceless. I really like the crew puppets. One of the best videos I have seen in a while. And definitely a great one for Coldplay.

When you have to come back and re-post your "proof" you're trying way too hard. Lighten up and enjoy the video - today's about positive thinking, this video is fun and you're attempt to ruin the fun is boring.

But did Beck have clowns on motorcycles? Or a getaway helicopter? Because I didn't see any of that.

Beck definitely did this first but i don't think this was a malicious "ripoff." I'm not crazy about this song (or band) but the music video is really fun and it actually made me laugh a few times.

Third best puppet-based music video I've ever seen, man. Just behind Genesis' "Land of Confusion" and maybe N'Sync's "Bye Bye Bye".

that was so funny! props to whoever made the puppets, they were spot on! When I saw the little cap on the guitarist.... that was it!

the video overall greatly captures the douchyness behind all this stadium/"we are the biggest in the world!" acts. so, more thumbs up to Coldpay for having a laugh at their own expenses.

seriously, do you think that a band that barely has any rock songs should use that amount of amps.

exceptionally good music video, especially in this day and age. coldplay took a clever concept and executed it perfectly--with a bunch of self-depreciating humor thrown in for good measure.

and dare i say it...or did stereogum just give a coldplay-related news item positive buzz?

It sounds like they reworked the song some, but i think the lyrics kind of distract from what was admittedly a pretty great instrumental...

pretty great video tho

This was ridiculous. It's been a while since a video made me laugh out loud. Comedy.

Yea, Beck did this exact same thing not to long ago with puppets that look almost identical, but none the less the video is still hillarious and very cool. at first it looked like it may be a bit dull but when the stage effects started going off it became classic. haha.

One of the kids was in the 'Never Forget' musical in the West End. Maybe the kids shoudl have sung it.

I also appreciate that they made some pretty obvious fun of themselves and their bombastic live shows. Makes me wonder if they have a puppet combo amp miked in the back to provide the sound for the look of 50 marshall cabs.

I don't care what all of you guys say...It was a spectacular video, form the beginning to end...the puppets, the music, the things that they all did(Expanding the stage, adding the walkway, FIREWORKS IN THE BUILDING, the motorcyclist clowns, and the stage guy...) no matter what this will always be original...and beck's video was a much lesser video compared to this...sorry to break out the truth =^(...
