New Coldplay Video - "Strawberry Swing"

thumbnail icon: New Coldplay Video - "Strawberry Swing"

The newest Viva La Vida clip was directed by Shynola, an artist group that's worked with Beck ("E-Pro"), Blur ("Crazy Beat"), and Radiohead ("Pyramid Song"), among others. Here, they pulled out all the artistic stops. We've already seen Coldplay as classroom puppets. This time, Chris Martin takes the lead as a live-animated superhero who's shaken from his drab apartment to save a damsel in distress, only after battling giant squirrels, water creatures, and other obstacles.

"Strawberry Swing" is out as a digital download 9/14 via Parlophone.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Learn to fucking link correctly, Stereogum. It's about all your job description entails. It's like your mom forgetting to deliver the newspapers when she heads out every morning on her paper route.

You'll have to be more specific, as there were no broken links in this post.

What an awesome video! Man, I would really like to see a behind the scenes on it. Wonder how many hours did it take to draw all those scenes on the floor. I wish the song was a bit better, it'd make the video even more enjoyable.

while cool, isn't this just a rip-off of the following video which was popular on the interwebs for a while earlier this year.....?

I can't tell if you're kidding. This is not a rip-off. This sort of idea is used ALL the time in music videos and the like. And that Oren Lavie video is cool, but even if this Coldplay video was a rip-off of that video...don't you think this one did a damn good job of outdoing that video?

Speaking of Coldplay and using old ideas, has anyone seen the U2 Blackberry commercial that is EXACTLY the Coldplay iTunes one with the rainbows from last year? Because I guess ideas really do get reused...

So there's no future for 42 to be released as a single hu?... It's a pity a band as big as they, are not bold enough to take the "chance" and put out there some of their more challenging (and better) songs such as 42 or Death And All His Friends. This could have an important effect on the market, but instead they released the boring Lost and Violet Hill and now this...
