New Conan O'Brien Live Video - "Blue Moon Of Kentucky"

We didn't need to watch Conan covering Radiohead to see this development a mile away: no writers + late night time to kill = lots of Conan on guitar. Still didn't expect the awesomeness that is O'Brien full on singing and backed by Max Weinberg and the Max Weinberg 7 on Bill Monroe's old timey country bluegrass classic. Very awesome. Thank you, writers' strike?

He sounds great! And that is the best looking beard this side of Tom Cruise's (rimshot). Sorry, the WGA/AMPTP conflict clearly is affecting our monologue jokes, too.

while i'm glad to see stereogum dipping their digital toes into music they never write about, "old timey country bluegrass," conan's performance has much more in common with that of another man with big hair -- elvis -- than with bill monroe
