New Cornelius Video - "Gum"

Watching this clip from Tokyo-based studio whiz Cornelius is like having the ultimate in music-responsive screen saver technology. Almost as trance inducing as the electro-rock ping-pong vocal groove itself! We're huge Fantasma fans, and Sensuous is another round of goodness. And what's not to love about a song called "Gum"?

For floating, disembodied fingers set to acoustic passing chords, watch his video for "Music" here. Never the same thing twice with this guy.

UPDATE: You've gotta watch this vid for "Fit Song." It's what happens in your apartment after having beers with Kele.

AND he is the best remixer ever. Really, he made a (bad) Sting song sound cool.

Saw him play live a few days ago and it was excellent!

The best video from Sensuous is by far the mind bending "Fit Song":

I agree, he's the best remixer ever. (Sting remix?) But Sensuous is pretty disappointing, if you ask me.

I doubt the S'gum has heard Point (maybe y'all dismissed it years ago or something) because then they wouldn't use the phrase "never the same thing twice" in reference to the song "Music" from Sensuous; it sounds like a Point retread (recalling the rhythms of the much-superior "Drop" and the changes of "Nowhere"). So does "Gum," too, though a little less so.

Wow, I have been listening to Fantasma for a few years and I thought I was the only one, as NONE of my other friends had even heard of it. Right on!

I love Cornelius....Fantasma is probably one of the most creative albums I have ever heard. I had no idea he had a new record out...I've been checkin the Matador website every month or so for any updates but I suppose they're not going to distro. Amazon has it at $37!!!!

Everyone possible has to see him live. His whole show he has video similar to this playing behind him and the music PERFECTLY matches the video down to cymbal hits to graphic flashes. It was really amazing. Then he grabbed Elijah Wood out of the audience and had him play an Elvis song on a Theremin. pretty amazing.
