New Cribs Video - "Cheat On Me"

thumbnail icon: New Cribs Video - "Cheat On Me"

A couple of weeks ago Zane Lowe premiered the Cribs' "Cheat On Me," the second track from the Brits' forthcoming fourth album Ignore The Ignorant. At the time, as Reported, we mentioned that the quartet now includes 100% more Johnny Marr. You can sort of see this yourself in the uninspired, blurred-out performance video of the track. Needs more bowl cuts.

Ignore The Ignorant is out 9/7 via Wichita/Warner Bros.

That song's ok I guess, video is kind of boring...which makes me really sad as they're one of my fav recently-formed bands. Still love them!

Not quite what I was looking for from their new stuff but I suppose you can't do "Mens Needs..." over again. Hopefully it grows on me.

Proof that you can't salvage a song by giving it a slightly more complex time signature.

because zero is in the denominator of that equation, the band cannot have 100% more johnny marr. but if a second johnny marr joins the band, then there will be a 100% increase in johnny marr.

love the band, adore the last album, but i have to be honest...this song did not make a good first impression.

Textbook maths; utterly beautiful. I'd +1 you but I am unable to as an uninitiated member of the community because Stereogum removed the scoring system, likely due to their questionable mathematical ability.

Is Marr still in Modest Mouse, on some sort of sabbatical?

I liked the song on first listen. Nice vocals but when did singing like Kurt Cobain became the new thing?

I like it -- not the smash-in-your-face that Men's Needs or Bovine Public or Mirror Kissers were, but it's a nice groove and you can really taste the Marr. The vid says it's available on itunes -- the vid is a liar.
