New Crocodiles Video - "Summer Of Hate"
San Diego JAMC and MJ-digging BTW, Dum Dum Girls collaborators, and all around harworkers Crocodiles have a new video for their Summer Of Hate title track. (Yes, just in time for your summer of hate.) It was directed by Christin Turner, who fuzzes up their desert trek with a hazy pixelated double-exposed black-and-white washing. It's fittingly reminiscent of some lost VU outtake. And, as VaginaWash4u comments over at YouTube:
I like this band a lot i saw them live great energy they did remind me of JAMC but that is not such a bad thing i like that band and this band is great and the singer dances damn sexy!!!

this is weird but the description of this band on Fat Possum records totally turned me against them a couple months ago. I didn't think their album was that great in the first place but the FP intro was the nail in the coffin. Anyway, this is one of the songs I really liked from the album. I think if I listened to the album again, I would probably like it.

I love this song so much!! I see the VU-influence all over. The new Horrors actually sounds similar to this but leaning more towards a Joy Division meets TJ&MC. It was co-produced by Geoff Barrow(Portishead) and it's called Primary Colours, recommended.

Things have been screwy all day, some of my comments won't appear in the posts even though they show up as archived on my profile and avatars haven't been loading at times.
Also, hitting "submit" has apparently logged me out twice, giving me an error screen stating that I need to be logged in to comment. I thought it was my browser at first but it's working fine elsewhere.

During the entire second video I was trying to figure out why these guys were wearing sunglasses inside a dark club – and then it occurred to me – these guys are REALLY COOL!
Crocodiles, Kings of Leon and Dead Weather should form a supergroup of faux rock posturing. They wouldn't even play a single tune, they would just stand there striking their coolest poses.
