New CSS Video - "Left Behind"

thumbnail icon: New CSS Video - "Left Behind"

"Left Behind" sees CSS continue to put on a glossier face on record. The video sees them put on glossy faces on camera. Synergy! Actually, having the CSS crew wear masks and shake asses fits the song well; "Left Behind" is about getting over someone via party therapy -- "I'm jump up on the table and dance my ass off 'til I die" -- which is just as fake a face as any you'll see in the video.

That's the second video from Donkey -- see the one for "Rat Is Dead (Rage)" here -- which is out 7/22 via Sub Pop.

UPDATE: No, it's not the CSS crew dancing around. In fact the CSS crew had next to nothing to do with the vid, save soundtracking it and stamping it "Official"; this was entirely the work of one Renata Abbade, who directed, produced, conceived, starred-in, danced, and wore masks all by her lonesome. Check out her site here. Nice work, Renata.

visual ideas run out of steam, but the song is pretty killer.

I'm guessing you didn't make it through the whole video because "the CSS crew" is actually one woman who isn't in the band.

This is yet another so-so video. It is interesting sometimes...and boring at the same time. Sorry.

I think it's a pretty awesome video. It's kinda the triumph of Youtube aesthetics over the main stream music video genre. It's funny, unpretentious and very daring if you think it's a band going through the "second album curse" so-to-speak and choses to release a video without actually appearing in it!! Come on guys!! It's brave, daring and very ironic- very CSSesque... hahahaha I love it!!

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...
