New Cursive Video - "Big Bang"
Apologies for the dearth of posts this AM; the internet connection at Stereogum HQ exploded! Shards of tube everywhere. But we promise to make it up to ya with our Austin announcement a little later. And there's a certain poetic beauty to posting the vid for a song called "Big Bang" that we're a tad too frazzled to explore at the moment. While we clean up the mess, watch Cursive's clip at Spinner. Director Eric David Johnson took a cue from MJ's "Black Or White," stringing together a series of phenotypically diverse faces minus the creepy CGI morphing, instead overlaying some colorful cartoon bursts of "bang," set to the tune's explanation of Creation. Sunday school kids, plug your ears.

love the band, but it's way boring.

wonder what's going on that we can't see that's making them flinch

I don't think this style of video works at all for the song. It works great for Bright Eyes' "First Day of my Life" but is just awkward here.
Boring too.
