New Death Cab For Cute Video - "Crooked Teeth"

No, not part of Directions. This is the official MTV/2/U-ready followup to "Soul Meets Body." It's a fun homage to longtime Peter Gabriel-director Steven Johnson. Totally rewatchable, and extra points of letting all the Death Cabbies in on the stop-motion action. Watch here.

a music video should not be enough to make someone dislike a band. lay off. death cab is still great.

What about today's Directions video as compared to this one? $5000 vs. probably a lot more?

This one really is actually good.

Yeah, totally, Death Cab is soooo played out. I mean, I only like a band the week they form, then they're, like, so old. Blah blah blah...

Seriously guys, get over it. Death Cab is the new R.E.M. Get used to em.

i love his absurdly fat head and i've loved it for years, thank you! seriously, i am getting sick of the dcab bashing too. i am bitter and angry at their uber popularity, i feel like smashing someone's head in when the supermodel blonde chick next door blasts soul meets body every f-ing morning, i too cring when i see that ridiculous grammy nomination...but you know what? just lay off. you know you love them too.

Blasted Microsoft and its DRM-brandishing madness! It's a well-known fact that us mac users are total death-cab-loving hipsters! Give us our hip fix!

Ok, REASON why I don't like Death Cab as much as I used to...

Because Gibbard used to make poignant, specific observations that really spoke to me. Over the years, his lyrics have become progressively more vague and universal to the point where I have trouble relating to what he is saying. Plus the music has gotten boring. That's what I have against them. Take it from someone who actually discovered them some time way before Transatlanticism, it gets old and they are NOT the new REM.

The difference between REM and Death Cab is people will remember and respect REM in the long run. Unless you count the Postal Service commercial

Maybe people will indeed respect DCFC in the future, as they have been underground for a long, long time and deserve their well-earned success.

Maybe they won't, but I think so far, they've been doing a good job of detoxing the airwaves.

If you don't like them anymore, listen to something else. Or better, form a band, make better music.

the Uber video doesnt work because it tells you to get the latest version of firefox... which incidentally i have, and does not work. so they tell you to get an incompatable software. cool!

I'm just bored by DCFC. That's all. I'm not going to sit and rant about them, what's the point? Unless Scott was doing non stop DCFC documenting, like Ben's new found love for lemon mirangue and such, then that's when I'd call an intervention.

Firstly, let me say I do not like Death cab at all nor will I ever but I enjoyed ths video. Maybe because I'm part of the "MTV age range"--I don't know. I thought it was cute, although it seems like a less than brand-new idea for a music video, but still. And as far as the song goes, I found myself slightly rockin' out in my chair at the end. IDK, it was pleasant, just not groundbreaking. I think it could get some good rotation on the video stations, I guess.

I do listen to other bands. The complaints come from me enjoying Stereogum besides all of the attention it gives to Death Cab.

And I have formed my own band.

I hate death cab. I especially hate the fat balding guy with fucked up hairstyle. I mean fuck does he comb his hair like that with the intention of making people pissed off? More Federline, less Death Cab.

i'm sorry, that is a cute video...and that is the (only) song i play the mostest from 'plans'...i agree with earlier commentators re: gibbard lyrics, but i also agree that death cab has not fundamentally changed that much, production values aside. and i AM what some might call an indie snob (boyracer WHAT? swirlies WHO?). let's have some perspective.
