New Deerhoof Video - "The Perfect Me"

Yes, we're still in love with Friend Opportunity, even though we were left wanting more from Deerhoof's set at the PLUG Awards. Here, the SF trio take one camera, an apartment staircase, a kiddie drum set (sans sticks), and a fresh Satomi vocal for a lo-fi take on the propulsive chop pop of "The Perfect Me." And what is that giant, pocked leaf Satomi's brandishing? Strange fruit. (via P4K)

That was the best video I've seen in some time.

These guys are really the greatest band out there right now.

I hear all the buzz about the band; but what a let down this song is. Charitably I'll call them a second rate Stereolab cover band.

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt
