New Dinosaur Jr. Video - "Over It"

thumbnail icon: New Dinosaur Jr. Video - "Over It"

Following up the mid-tempo "I Want You To Know," the reinvigorated Dinosaur Jr. look especially spry when going the Bones Brigade/BMX freestyle route in this great Marke Locke-directed video for Farm's "Over It." Besides gnarly moves, there are lessons to be learned after they all take their respective spills and decide to get back up and pull off more kickflips, fakies, and 180's. And speaking of over it, note the moment J puts his hand on Lou's shoulder, the years of animosity replaced by a simple gesture (and a custom Dinosaur Jr. deck). Speaking of friendship, Mike Watt makes an appearance, too.

if the word "rad" doesn't fully sum this video up then i have been mislead as to its meaning.

Stuntman's wig doesn't match Mascis very well.

Separated at birth: J Mascis circa now, and Judah Friedlander.

I want so badly for it to be them doing the tricks, but I realize it's pretty unlikely. In any case, it totally works. Dinosaur Jr. has my heart (and eardrums) forever.

It's still tremendous the way these guys just picked up after 20 years of acrimony ( at least on Lou's part ), and are just as good as they were in 1988. I do have to ask, however, is it now the rule for somebody to slag Wavves on this website whenever possible? You should make it part of the comment sign-in requirements; Name, E-Mail, Snide comment about a 22-year old. Jeez, you'd think the guy said something negative about Radiohead or something.

F. L.

Yes, agreed it is amazing they came back together, and sound current, rocking. Love it!
If only the Replacements would get back together, life would be ideal...
And yes it is not a rule, but it is fun to shit on bands like Wavves, who are supposedly the next big thing, and yet suck.
Have a good weekend Man!

God damn if the sound of J's guitar doesn't immediately flash me back to age 14! I love these guys. Probably the only reunited/old vanguard act that still interests me. although, the new SY album sounds pretty cool from what I've heard of it.

You mean a popular indie rock record came out in 09 that WASN'T put out by young rich kids who look like they stepped out of a parody of a Wes Anderson movie? Awesome! The late 80s/early 90s were great.
