New Editors - "An End Has A Start"

We were a wee bit pissy when we talked about the first track to leak (three pee references already!) from the new Editors record (believe "mildly warmed over post-Coldplay arena rock" was tossed in there). Admitted. So in the interest of being fair and balanced, have a listen of the title track (set to a stream of random images), which brings it back to their 'dark disco' and is hella better than the last track.

For MP3 action, head to Deaf Indie Elephants.

Urination. (Sorry, needed five references to win a bet.)

Enjoy!

Wow...I was really looking forward to new Editors. Now... not so much.
This is kinda not that good. I totally get the Coldplay reference now. Ugh!!!
Is this is the first single???
Has anyone heard any other tracks???
What a shame.

This would have blown minds in 1997. Too bad it sounds like 2005.

this band have always sounded a little too much like interpol, without that certain "je ne sais quoi", for me

This sounds like The Killers... The new Interpol single also sounds like The Killers.. are all of these 'dark rock' postpunky bands grabbing the commercial ticket?

Really. They sound like an off-brand Interpol. Which is too bad, because it's probably not on purpose. Interpol probably just beat them too it.

Say what you like, but this sounds NOTHING like The Killers. Neither does Interpol. Or did you miss Brandon Flowers horrible John Cougar Mellencamp impression on the shitstain that was 'Sams Town'?

Are you kidding me? This track is great. Same thing with the first leaked track as well. I'm looking forward to this album x 10!

So.. Can Interpol now officially file a law suit against the Editors?

It's no "All Sparks," it's not Ipol's "Evil," but it's not too far from either. Let's not get all "Everything Sucks®" about a decent-but-not-great track, hipstahhhhs.

i like it, although, i'm not sure about the girl in the video, she's a little suspect...

So does this mean that Editors are now a Coldplay cover band instead of an Interpol cover band?

whoever you folks are, you must be deaf! This is light years better than the editors first record (and I liked that a lot). doesn't even compare. sounds a bit like interpol, but then, so did the first one. smokers is a great track! The Killers! like i said, you guys are deaf...

oh dear - get lost with the killers and coldplay references - editors and interpol both rock - long live joy division - they were ripped from us too early, now we have two bands who can take us on the next trip.

Not to bring in too many comparisons, but I think it sounds maybe just a little like "Republic"-era New Order. I think it's a grower.

right, this track is very boring,it doesn't excite or exhilirate at all. Editiors used to be very good, i mean everyone would agree that munich is one of the tracks of the decade but this new sound they have is very..yes..Coldplay. Not good.

Maybe the Kaiser Chefs, Killers, Interpol, and New Order can start a class action lawsuit?
