New Franz Ferdinand - "Katherine Kiss Me" (Live At Glastonbury)

thumbnail icon: New Franz Ferdinand - "Katherine Kiss Me" (Live At Glastonbury)

Turns out you won't need to wait for Madden '09 to hear new Franz Ferdinand. Also turns out that last sentence isn't complete nonsense. Alex and friends recently let us know we could expect a new song on the soundtrack to the EA's forthcoming football timesuck, but as with all things audio/visual, YouTube is first. "Katherine Kiss Me"'s been getting the live treatment for the past few weeks, but this is the best version to stream the web yet. Remember when Nick McCarthy said "there are too many guitar bands out there now" and so Franz was "going to lose the electric guitars and play synths"? Yeah, he lied.

Still very pop, very danceable, big hook, dashing Alex smiles, great fitted jackets, etc. Still lots of guitars. I don't mind at all, but I'm still holding out hope for some curveballs as the rest of the record takes shape.

uh... ALOT.
like one is a 80's new wave wannabe band that turns into something that bruce springsteen threw out in the 80's/
FF is more dance and taking the early 00's "strokes" sound and adding bigger hooks plus a little more "wink wink" fun in it.
they don't seem to have evolved much, but goddamn they are a fun band to listen to.

the riff at 31 seconds in sounds very similar to "Take me out" ---but thats a good thing?

OMG! This song is so FUCKING GOOD!
I think I orgasmed while hearing it cuz it's so good.
uh did I just write that?
well I guess cuz I am a franz fan and I think after we hear it clear cut in the studio, I'm sure we'll ALL enjoy it, not just me.

and yeah it does sound like a franz song, like "the fallen" or "tell her tonight", something like that.
