New HEALTH Video - "Heaven"

Now that we think about it, the opening movement of BTW HEALTH's "Heaven" definitely connotes gliding through the air on a pair of really long skis. Or at least some triumph of the human spirit (admittedly, we were thinking ballroom dancing at the local Senior Center). According to the YouTube notes, the footage for the L.A. noise-pop crew's first video from the opening track of their self-titled debut (that's a lot of firsts) was filched from Werner Herzog's 1974 documentary The Great Ecstasy Of The Woodcarver Steiner, the one about the ski-jumper Walter Steiner, who did carpentry full-time when not skiing. Très fitting subtext considering the HEALTH dudes have day jobs, too, no? To see the icy action take the, ahem, jump.

UPDATE: Turns out this is an unofficial, fan-made video. Still, it soars. Camp HEALTH loves it too, and assures us an official clip is on the way, one featuring a "more rock less art approach." Looking forward to that; for now, this will do just fine.

Wonder how different the video would be with the dance-floor-ready NARCTRAX remix of the tune?

Shake that ass, Walter.
