New Jenny Lewis - "Acid Tongue" & Acid Tongue Album Art

thumbnail icon: New Jenny Lewis - "Acid Tongue" & Acid Tongue Album Art

Welcome to the post where we finally give you guys Jenny Lewis's phone number. Oh, hi Google.

It's in the same way we gave you Arcade Fire's phone number, though. (Remember 866-NEON-BIBLE, back when it streamed "Intervention" and didn't lead to a chat with Will Butler? It's like that.) Jenny's next record, the one with all the guests (Elvis Costello, She, Him, Chris Robinson, Johnathan Rice, etc.), has its own hotline and if you CALL NOW you can hear its dusty ballad title track. It's vocals and guitar, there's a nice group harmony on the chorus which may account for more than a few of those fancy cameo names, and there's some Rabbit Fur Coat style twang creeping at the corners of Lewis's lips. "Acid Tongue"'s pretty, and also it's not about how Jenny is the best at chewing people out; it's more about tripping in Dixie. Here's the trailer where she introduces the phone number with a xylophone guy, because xylophone guys are quirky.

If you don't feel like calling, here's a live version.

Acid Tongue is out 9/23 on Warner. The cover: a full sheet of blotter paper with Jenny LSD faces. Goes well with OJ.

My copy of "Wu-Tang Forever" lists a ton of 1-900 numbers for various Wu Raccoons, but I've always been scared to dial them, lest I interrupt Ghostface cutting up coke or some shit. Also, I doubt that anyone would answer Dirt McGirt's number these days. :(

Oh yeah, who gives a shit about Jenny Lewis's hotline!

That reminds me of that "Just Jazzin' " video that Ben Gibbard made on April Fool's Day.

jenny lewis is one of the most talented indiviuals of this generation.
if anyone listens this and isn't totally swept away by her voice (particularly on the chorus) they probably have a serious hearing condition or are just mostly retarted.

I can't wait for acid tongue! The song is so catchy and it has that warm southern feel to it i loved and missed. It still feels like rabbit fur coat. Jenny do you remember May 28th/08 at the Phenix in toronto when some one threw a napkin on stahe and you read allowed "Circle of life+love=I think I'm Distlesick". Anyway watching you sing live is so mezzmurising. I hope yopu come to Toronto for the Acid Tounge tour!

"Regarding the cover art: I TOTALLY GET IT! AWESOME!"

"What do you mean 'get it'?

Well, a person who isn't educated on how acid is done wouldn't get, I'm sure. Apparently, you aren't. The cover is linked with the title of the album because it's a sheet of acid squares (acid is a drug done by putting a piece of paper on the tongue). Get it now?

Someone earlier posted it so correctly...if loving Jenny is wrong, then I don't want to be right. I saw her in May in Omaha with RK and they played an awesome show with a set-list that included old and new. Don't know why..but "Does he Love You?" will always be a favorite from RK for me!
