New Jens Lekman Live Video - "The Opposite Of Hallelujah"

We've been upfront about our love for Jens Lekman's Night Falls Over Kortedala, so we were more than happy to stumble upon a video of the silent one performing "The Opposite Of Hallelujah" on Swedish television. Looks like it was recorded just two days ago for Studio Virtanen. No idea what the text at the bottom says or why the other guest is sitting so stiffly/the host so bored as they listen, but Lekman's alternately smiley 'n' serious take on the album standout is all we need to comprehend. Note how they roll the credits before he's done-- somehow pretty, somehow sad.

In case you don't have it (for shame!)...

Jens Lekman - "The Opposite Of Hallelujah" (MP3)

After the jump, a clip of Jens doing song of the year candidate "A Postcard To Nina" last year in Melbourne (live vets know, it's been in his bag awhile); just Jens and his trusty uke (with helpful mid-verse annotation) serenading a crowd of adoring Aussies with a laugh 'n' a cappella-filled performance.

It's okay to swoon.

Thanks. Jens is such a likeable guy, but this is the first time I've ever found his music entertaining. Those were great videos.

It saddens me to say that Jens looks vaguely like a far thinner version of Perez Hilton. Despite that, he's completely brilliant and the new cd is amazing.

I fucking LOVE Jens! His music is incredible. Two great videos, 'The Opposite of Hallelujah' is currently my favorite song, although 'A Postcard to Nina' is a close second. 'Sweet Summer Night on Hammer Hill' probably third, because its so fun to sing along with. I can't wait to get his new album!

Sorry, but anyone that can fuck the shit out of a ukelele is tops in my book. And I have a book.

How's this dude find time to make music and play goalkeeper for Arsenal at the same time? No wonder he's been giving up so many soft goals.

Hahah, the other guest is Jan Guillou. I don't think I've ever seen him look remotely excited.

These two video have made me like Jens Lekman a lot more. I guess the glossy production of his studio work kinda put me off at first.
