New Justin Timberlake Video - "What Goes Around..."
JT's trailer-teased pairing with ScarJo made its way out a little early, and there's so much sexual tension in the first thirty seconds alone! This is the director's cut, so from there it goes on and on and on ... the vid is so long we half expected Slash to stroll out of a church with an unplugged Les Paul and start wailing. The actor that Britney Scarlett cheats with is Shawn Hatosy. And the moral: Cheat on JT, and your karmic retribution will be to perish in a fiery automotive disaster. But he's not bitter or anything. Thanks for taking the coolest (and for being almost 8 mins long the most ballsy) song on the album and talking over half of it in a video. The bridge between the two sections is pretty cool, and in this they tossed a fight sequence into it. With that car chase I half expected Keanu Reeves and Paula Abdul to show up. If you're gonna do a "short film" music video at least have the common courtesy to throw some zombies in it.

Totally clichéd and the director was trying too hard. I actually found it embarrassing to watch because of how predictable and cheap the dialogue and plot are. Also, I have to say the song stinks, I can't believe this is what passes for good music these days. Everyone involved needs to study film and music history a little harder. The one positive thing I can say about this video is the high attention to detail in the costuming and styling of the actors and sets, everything else needs work. I'm so sick of the corporate music machine. By the way, why does everyone want to make karma so cheap and literal? Base, really base.
