New Kaki King Video - "Air And Kilometers"
Dreaming Of Revenge has definitely been a big step for Kaki King -- as illustrated on tracks like "Pull Me Out Alive and 2 O'Clock," she's moved beyond the "guitar prodigy" thing to a straight-up solid, inventive songwriter. (Remember, she really sweat some of those lyrics in the studio.) For now, though, forget half of what we just said, because Kaki's new stop motion video, created by Melbourne, Australia-based artist Ingrid K Brooker, is for the dreamy Dreaming instrumental "Air And Kilometers."
Where her last video for aforementioned "Pull Me Out Alive" was made up a million little snapshots (and Tegan & Sara cameos), this one transforms old-time coupons, maps, rulers, marbles, floor wax, plastic cars, and little plastic people into an amber-tinted, patterned world of pinwheels, highways, trees, bridges, and inky rain with no sign of KK anywhere (at least not in the visuals).

Amazing video of course. Love all of kaki kings videos. It's really creative just like her music.

That was a fun, haunting video. It really captures that bittersweet sadness - such a sense of loss and longing, and yet continuity.

Whatever, that video was too long and repetitive. Cool animation, pleasant song, but tiresome after awhile.

KK sounds great but she's still a poor man's Michael Hedges to me.

...a poor man's Michael Hedges?... Don't be silly. She is who she is. If you like it, great; if you don't, great. What you've said is completely subjective. What, objectively speaking, makes M.Hedges great and KK less great?
Don't get me wrong; Michael Hedges is my all-time favorite guitarist!!! I just think that your comparison/distinction is trivial...pointless.

Remember everyone, Ingrid Brooker made the video, not KK! (No disrespect to KK of course, her music is great.) This video is absolutely awesome :) Check out Ingrid Brooker's website to see more goodies: www.agastopia.com
