New Kevin Drew Video - "Safety Bricks"

thumbnail icon: New Kevin Drew Video - "Safety Bricks"

Broken Social Scene may have decided to Present... Brendan Canning's Something For All Of Us... a few weeks early due to leak issues (buy here, free MP3 here), but fellow BSS founder Kevin Drew isn't ready to let you forget about his own ellipses-loving solo venture Spirit If... just yet. This new video for "Safety Bricks" has KD making like Dylan with a notebook for a quick minute, then shifts into a hand-in-hand stroll with some children in an out of the way village, strumming through dust storms, saluting the sun on a bluff. There are lots of bright smiles, hugs, and heartwarming moments to accompany the tune's bitter, sweet shuffle. OK, you win, KD: We won't forget about your album just yet. And if you're gonna put this much heart into your clips, we don't mind you stretching out the Spirit If... parade as long as you want.

That comes via P4K.tv. Spirit If... is out now courtesy of Arts & Crafts.

Holy shit, does this song rip off Feist's I Feel It All, really badly.

they have similar instrumentation and tempos, but the melodies are completely different. it's hardly a feist rip-off. the two are in the same band, so its not surprising that have similar stylistic tendencies.

i really like this video

Elliot

Kids in other countries are cuter than kids in North America.

(this song is very similar to I Feel It All, but i like Keven Drew's version much better.)

It took me a while to really get into 'Spirit If...', but I really love it now. This video is really great too. Has a really nice feel to it.
