New Killers - "A Crippling Blow"
The Killers' Day & Age is still two weeks from official release, although its component parts have been popping up steadily -- "Human," "Spaceman," "Losing Touch," Neon Tiger," etc. Reader Will O. let us know that the pre-release listen parade runs even longer, with the b-side to the "Human" single, "A Crippling Blow." If you live in Germany you've had access to it via iTunes, but since you probably don't live in Germany you can hear the feather-lovers' latest ode to synths and self-reliance this way.
It is neither crippling, nor does it blow. Discuss. Day & Age is out 11/25 via Island.

this is a step back in the right direction for the killers. maybe if they stuck to one definition of themselves they would be better than average at something. hot fuss was a big record for me when it first came out, and while im not too big of a fan anymore, i want the killers to be good. i want them to!

I personally love this song and wish it was on the new album, reminds me a little of Viva la Vida's Cemeteries of London. Hmm an article on a b-side? that's pretty extensive for not liking the band :P

I'm happy people are finally coming (back) around to The Killers. Even if they don't admit it.

Brandon Flowers sings about his first blowjob.
I like it.

I always will have a special spot in my heart for the killers. They were my first concert way back before they got big. Never the less, flowers shows no emotion live so at that point I was like wtf, whats the hub bub about concerts. Never the less i love SamsTown and get why people hate them but they make catchy pop rock which i'm fine with, love the kooks and rooney as well but most of you guys think i'm stupid, sometimes its just easy listening to pop.

Thank goodness you continue to help this band- cuz the rest of the folk that bought album number one moved on- sales in the states- steady down, not up. The sound like Scritti Politti now- the perfect way to impress a.d.d set for another 15 minutes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM2-cRCssBY too much coke and euro-club aftershow parties- the result is Nagel Painting on a remix budget.

i love how after 5 years, 12 million albums sold, and being on the cover of rollling stone for the new album, people like Nagel up there are still trying to convince themselves that the killers are a flash in the pan.
Score = 3
this sounds very killers.

I Love It When Is Being Released On iTunes?

I'm curious as to what's up with critics thinking a band absolutely must plant themselves into a certain sound and never deviate. I've seen a couple reviews about The Killers and other bands that give this flawed arguement to justify the reviewer's dis-satisfaction for the album -- the band hasn't "found itself". Seriously, is that a joke? Dare i bring up The beatles and The Killers in the same paragraph, but if you don't believe that what made The beatles great was the fact that they DID NOT settle into one certain sound and instead experimented and let themselves fly free, then you're simply a moron.
Day and Age does just that. I agree though that some songs just don't have the feel of the band that I'm used to and was hoping for more hard rocking stuff like Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine (Crippling Blow is my favorite track on this album) but that is just the band going where they want and flexing their freedom and good on them for doing so, even though where they fly off to may not really be my personal cup of tea. I'm sure though that it will please a ton of fans and find new ones from them doing so.
So in summary, if you hate on the band for not sticking to one sound, you need to stop being a reviewer or critic because you're not much of an artist yourself to even be criticizing others' works.
