New Killers Video - "Bones"

Tim Burton goes with the literal in his direction of this Killers clip, placing skin-stripping lovers on a beach, inviting a bone-on-bone swim, with sword-wielding skeletons straight outta 1963 (see Jason And The Argonauts). We dig the goofy-spooky drive-in movie vibe ("Paging Mr. Herman!") -- and rocker skeletons always remind us of "Touch Of Grey" -- but ultimately we expected more from Famous Post-Mortemer. The video ends with The Killers dropping dead (music to your eyes, we're sure), but after all the backhanding, we just wanna say that they sounded a bajillion times better on Letterman last night than they did on SNL. Brandon actually hit some notes!

If you like this clip, Tivo Conan on Halloween.

This video and song are amazing...I say this with no hint of irony. Fuck all y'all snobs!

dammit, tim burton.
still like it better than most of the half-assed indie videos we (don't really ever...) see.

That was really disturbing...Cinematography was great though.

No, I am pretty sure it isn't. Did the video remind anybody else of Grease?

Shame they didn't remake "weekend at bernie's" - it'd be the only way to regain any credibilty.

^No, although she does kind of look like a mix of her and the girl from the When You Were young video.

This video creeps me out, kind of. I'm not sure if I like it yet, but I think I probably will after a few watches. The song, however, is awesome...no question.

This song blows, probably one of the worst on the CD (which I admit to listening to). Hate to see how they sounded on SNL if they were so great sucking it up on Letterman.

I always thought this song sounded kind of like Oingo Boingo...appropriate that Burton would be doing the video.

horn section... a little broken social scene-esque? reminiscent of ibi dreams of pavement, for me.

mediocre song... certainly not has horrible as some of their other songs.

impressive video... but what else would you expect from tim burton.

this video and song are mad retarded. it shouldve gone all the way like that terrible robbie williams video where he like stripped off slabs of man-meat from his body and threw it at the skating whores.

oh, and before this song i didn't know the beach was just water and sand. great lyrics there.

I just wanted to say that the bit about "Famous Post-Mortemer" has got to be the most obscure "Mr. Show" reference I have ever seen on this blog. I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed that I got it.

Why do you people bother posting a comment about this video just to diss the lyrics or the lead singer's new moustache? I really don't get it...when Julian Casablancas writes "so many fish there in the sea" in Automatic Stop y'all give him standing ovation and say it's the best underrated second album ever, but the ocean can't be "only water and sand" when the Killers write about it?! Come on!

@ those talking trash about devon & steve, they are the only two that are actually independent from their dad's money. the rest of the aoki clan is being sued by their dad. devon was in the sean lennon video.

@ the fast and the furious sequels... i hate to say it but the third one wasn't half bad. it was just the second one that was terrible.

@ the killers video itself. um... lets go back to that robbie williams video a few years back you know where he strips down to the bone??

yeah the swings in front of drive in screen are the bits that remind me of Grease, good point, thought that was just me.....second...the video idea is awesome, Tim Burton has a warped sense of humour, get with the program guys, its not meant to be taken seriously....love the Jason & the Argonauts clip in it, I hired the 1963 movie so I could see those Children of the Night all over again....Ray Harryhausen is brilliant....thirdly it must be guys that are bagging Brandons mo, cause it looks so hot on him...and lastly, the song and his voice sound great, lets hear you sing better....
