New Killers Video - "Read My Mind"

Remember that psychic East Asian Elvis? Well he dances! And he sorta knows the words to "Read My Mind." The Killers shot this clip in Japan, and it'll test the mettle of your hatred for them, at least when they have a dance-off/leaf-fight with a bunch of school kids in a park. Aww. And look at those silly bicycles! The tight leather jackets! And the, uh, toothbrushing lesson from the green monster mascot?

Is it just me or is Flowers channeling Freddie Mercury for most of the video? It must be the mustache.

Regardless, this song is one of the few highlights on Sam's Town...smart choice for a single.

Totally the best single off of Sam's Town. And definitley their best video as of now.

...Or maybe it's a tie between this and Mr. Brightside. You gotta love that Moulin Rouge-esque video. But this is definitley better than Bones and When You Were Young. Bones = not the most entertaining video, but amusing. When You Were Young = cinematography too dark (atleast for my taste.) Still love them Killers though. Hope they finally get a Grammy this year.

Definitely the best single off Sam's Town. Also a great video, but what the hell is the green thing?!

yes, i have to agree that it's the best song off sam's town. i don't mind the video. it's not great... they could have toned down the japanese kitsch a little. it would have made the juxtaposition of the americana lyrics with the japanese city-life more interesting...

and yes, i did use 'juxtaposition'.

I don't see this as being the best on Sam's Town. My vote would've gone to Uncle Jonny or This River Is Wild. As for the video...until Ronnie cuddles the green monster, it's worthless.

This is a pretty flacid try aat something endearing. The lead singer looks like a total prat and there is something very forced about the whole scenario. Certainly in terms of editorial they should have waited to introduce the band before having the lead singer start gesticulating like that. The song is actually pleasant, but the plastic antics and the shove-it-down-your-throat sentimentality is all quite stupid and uncreative. We have seen the Beatles-Meet-The-World shtick all too many times.

That green thing is a character from a japanese childrens show. 'Gatchapin' is the name, i think.

The Killers live are, without doubt, the best I have ever ever seen. Brandon Flowers has amazing presence and the music is just un-believable. The video shows the intensity of Brandon and he absolutely has the presence of Freddie Mercury. If you EVER have the opportunity to see The Killers live...trust me.....GO!!!!
