New Lily Allen Video - "Smile" (Simlish Version)

What do Pussycat Dolls, Depeche Mode, Black Eyed Peas and Lily Allen have in common? That's right, they've all recorded a song in Simlish. You know, the native language used by characters in The Sims? (It was news to us, too.) Electronic Arts has announced a contest for which Sims players are encouraged to record their own Simlish "Smile" at singshot.com. Lily Allen will pick the winner, who will receive a free videogame or something.

Says Lily in a press release: "The silly language and whimsy of The Sims games are a perfect fit for the song. I was laughing the entire time!" Uh huh.

Here's your inspiration, gamers:

She's much cuter in real life, really. See her live if you don't believe us. Tour dates after the jump. Also, free Simlish lessons here.

Any news for On Sale dates? This is something that drives me crazy aobut NYC. Sometimes a venue won't announce an on sale date until the day before, so it's easy to miss. This show isn't even on Irving Plaza's calendar yet

I actually was playing the Sims 2 Pets last night and heard, "Free Radicals" by the Flaming Lips sung in Simlish. If you have it, try turning on the radio and switching to "College Rock."

Okay.. a little nerdy, but at least I don't waste my life playing Warcraft. :-)

I actually quite liked that version, it made me grin all the way through.

It's funny, you can almost pick up some English sounding words...
