New Little Joy Video - "Next Time Around"
Little Joy might not be the most exciting band in the world, but this video for "Next Time Around" does have at least one thing going for it: It's not nearly as annoying as Fab, Devendra, and Greg Rogove's Megapuss (aka the strokes). It's the first single from Little Joy's self-titled debut. Thunderbird directed. Thunderbird. It's pretty straightforward -- three folks performing their song in a room with a lot of windows. Plus, it's cool that Vincent Gallo showed up to rub beards with them (see above screen grab).
Note: That is not Vincent Gallo.
Little Joy, which you can stream, is out via Rough Trade.

Hey, these guys stole my shtick. But that's mellow.

Made me think of the Roches on SNL.(they had Paul Simon connections) One of my favorite performances on that show. They were were so tight. Andy Kaufman was on too,

I really enjoyed this song and video. It's great when a director can take a live performance and present it in an interesting and personal way. But the band sounds a lot like an acoustic version of the Strokes, especially the way they ended the song so abruptly. I love the Strokes, so in my opinion that's not such a bad thing.

I'm seeing these guys play in St. Louis with The Radical Sons. Should be a great a show. This video just got me even more excited

I miss The Strokes.
Everyone is so folksy nowadays. The next thing you know Paul Banks is strumming his acoustic guitar and wearing flannel.
