New Los Campesinos! Video - "My Year In Lists"

thumbnail icon: New Los Campesinos! Video - "My Year In Lists"

If you like the exclamatory Cardiff pop crew Los Campesinos!, you'll likely enjoy the stripped-down video for "My Year In Lists" ... because it's basically a series of quick cuts between the septet's faces. (If you don't like LC!, this video will likely be very annoying.) There are no Minor Threat references or in-studio rainbow, kitten, and confetti explosions, though we do get an extended metaphor about New Year's resolutions and this little jab: "I cherish with fondness the day (before) I met you." Plus, as bloggers, we can't help but get a little excited when we hear the word "lists."

"So I always write you letters in multicolors / Decorating envelopes for foreplay / Damn extended metaphors, I get carried away."

Hold On Now, Youngster... is out today on Arts & Crafts.

My December prediction of "2008: The Year Of Los Campesinos!" isn't looking too good right now. The record's cool though.

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...

Horse Feathers - "Father"

Portland songwriter Justin Ringle's evocative vocal twang and sharp lyricism are at the center of Horse Feathers' bedroom Americana. The band's second album House With No Home, which follows 2006's Words Are Dead, finds Ringle's vision fleshed out by multi-instrumentalist/composer...
